Reinforcing the Consumer Law
Businesses are one of the things that is holding our country rich and strong, ever since we shifted our economic system from mainly agrarian to an industrial service-oriented economy in which we were labeled as the Rising Tiger of Asia. It's what our whole country depends on, without it chaos would likely erupt and would lead to the possibility of an unstable nation. Therefore, guidelines were laid out to the business system in order to create congruence and agreement. But there are people as we know that would go for the lengths of lying to their customers just to earn sales in hopes of attracting even more customers, and that would be risky for both the customer and the sellers health and safety. It could possibly inflict with the country's GDP. This is why businesses that would go below the radar should be penalized. There are also people that truly care about other customers knowing what consequences might affect him/her but also knows how rewarding it is. On April 26, 2018, President Rodrigo Duterte temporarily closed one of the country's major tourist destination which means it would affect their market's GDP. He sacrificed the country's GDP in exchange for the people's health and safety. I respect a man that concerns and cares about his fellow countrymen. I strongly believe that if the Department of Justice implements strict punishments would rest assure that the health and safety of every Filipino.
Taking the risk of not following even the simplest rules on the Consumer Law is not really a wise idea, especially when you have big plans for your future business. I mean even the Department of Trade and Industry even made adjustments. But even with the government taking extra steps into making it easy people still find ways to avoid follow rules, I'd say that if punishments would be enforced by the Department of Justice (DOJ) then it would add even more pressure to those who plan to keep avoiding and staying under the radar to escape justice.
With the government in control and laying rules to create order within the business section and with punishments awaiting for those who harm any individuals or break the given rules and guidelines protecting both the customer and the seller, who wouldn't feel safe? After all prevention is better than cure.
When it comes to products from various businesses health is always at risk, though not only are we talking about the physical effects we consider the fact that other products can also affect us mentally, emotionally or even socially. This is where the Consumer Law comes to play, you as a consumer has the right to know the truth about the contents about the product being sold to other people. If punishments were to be given, and businesses would comply on the Consumer Law it would prevent health risks that may occur throughout the country.
Our health and safety really relies on the Consumer Law; it plays a key role that keeps us safe from the unknown knowledge of the different products presented to us, whether it is safe or dangerous. And with punishments to further strengthen the Consumer Law, making businesses to always comply with the rules in order to create a safe and healthy environment. There's nothing better than a safe future.
