"A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal"
-Steve Maraboli
In our current generation the number of people suffering from depression are rising and are affected by different factors ranging from personal problems all the way to abuse. Majority of us tend to ignore them and say that they only want attention but the truth is way far from that, that is the reason why people experiencing depression can't receive psychological help in which would only let their situation even worse than what they are going through at the moment. Now their mindset is to the point where they think no one cares, but fortunately for them people are now starting to notice and care about them, because those people know that in every life has a purpose and that second chances in their life is possible for them.
There are some ways in helping anyone who are experiencing with depression:
- Understand that certain persons background don't judge directly
- Talk to him/her and listen,
- Offer help and support to them
- Help the person into rebuilding themselves and create the possibility of a second chance
- Make sure they don't/won't think about their past or not let them experience what they have been through again, because some of them might not even listen to your advises because of how big of an impact depression hit their lives.
Depression should not be treated lightly and should not be ignored. Saving a dying soul is the best feeling that you could have ever feel in your life. Sometimes people may confuse depression from sadness; depression is a mental disorder that has an overpowering effect on many parts of a person's life while sadness is a normal human expression that every single person will experience. Mocking people who are actually depressed can lessen their chance of getting through their pain since it inflicts people to ignore them because of getting the wrong idea. A small act of kindness can result to a big impact to their life.
